2019 Programme

Saturday 2 March 1:30 - 3 pm: Visit to Alison Biden’s home in Winchester. Alison is the vice-president of the Musical Box Society of Great Britain. She has a collection of about 30 fairground organs, harmoniums and elaborate music boxes. If you would like to join us at this event, please let David Hall know (dhall@twyfordschool.com).

Saturday 9 March 1 - 4 pm: Have-a-go Day at St Michael and All Angels, Bassett. This is a drop-in afternoon for anyone who would like to come and play an organ - no experience necessary - all ages welcome.

Saturday 8 June – 10 - 4 pm: Joint event with Kent Organists' Association. We will be visiting Romsey Abbey and some churches in Winchester, possibly St Cross, Winchester College and/or Twyford Church

Friday 19 July: Provisional date for the Annual Dinner at Gatehouse 1833, Southampton. Current menu is three courses for £19.

Early Autumn 2019: Joint event with Bournemouth Organists' Association. We will visit Lymington and Christchurch Priory.

The Committee is busy assembling the programme for 2020 but these are the provisional dates for diaries:

Saturday 18th April - National Organ Day

Tuesday 21st July - lunchtime recital at Romsey Abbey

Tuesday 25th August - lunchtime recital at Romsey Abbey

Monday 30 September - President’s Evening, Winchester Cathedral
